The private drone light show for a corporate client was planned before the recent FBI investigation into unexplained drones over New Jersey, organizers said.

A private drone light show is planned for the Palace at Somerset Park, a wedding and event venue on Davidson Road in the Somerset section of Franklin, township police said Friday.The venue originally planned to put on a fireworks show for the private corporate event but had to scrap those plans when state, a spokeswoman for the Palace told NJ Advance Media. So, well over a month ago, the venue decided to put together a drone light show as an alternative — before the drone sightings began.
Police didn’t name the company that will stage the show but said it has approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration. “There is no cause for alarm and no need to contact 911 to report the drone activity confined to this area,” Franklin police said in a statement, adding that law enforcement and fire departments in the area are aware of the event.The planned drone show comes as the FBI is continuing to investigate more than 3,000 drone reports in New Jersey over the last several weeks.
