KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) leaders and members cannot rest on their laurels and must continue the process of rejuvenation, says its deputy president Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam.

He said they should not be “obsessed and proud of the name of the oldest party in the state” but fail to do anything for the party’s continued growth.

“We need to continue working hard together, working together for the sake of the party and the people of Sabah. We prioritise the interests of PBS and the people of Sabah, not our own interests. Dr Joachim, who is Deputy Chief Minister, said the party has struggled since its formation in 1984, and has achieved many successes in fighting for the people.

He said all divisions and branches must continue to strengthen the party as well as attract more youth into joining the party.
