Don't get lawyers to work during movement control order, Bar tells banks

BANKS must not impose unnecessary demands and instructions on panel lawyers in light of the shutdowns caused by the movement control order, said the Bar Council today. In a statement, its chairman Salim Bashir said the Bar has received troubling reports that a number of financial institutions, which are allowed to operate under the order, are compelling their panel law firms to adhere to strict timelines in the provision of legal services and the completion of tasks.
