The CNN host criticized the president for dancing while Americans are still suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
There have been more than 7 million cases nationwide and more than 215,000 deaths with more expected in the coming weeks and months, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Following his treatment for the virus, the president has resumed holding in-person rallies, at which there has reportedly been limited social distancing and mask-wearing.Lemon has criticized Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past. On October 1, the CNN host said"In large part, it's his own dereliction [that] is partly to blame to this," Lemon said.
"He chose to go out to rallies. He chose to down play masks. He chose to not social distance and called it a hoax and so on and so forth. But, you know, again, it's horrible that the president has this," he said. White House physician Dr. Sean Conley declared on Saturday that the president is"no longer considered a transmission risk to others," while those in attendance had their temperature checked and masks were said to be required. More than 215,000 Americans have died of the disease.
