CNN This Morning addresses Lemon’s exit, says ‘Keep the focus on the news’. READ:
“As you may have heard yesterday, CNN parted ways with anchor Don Lemon,” Harlow said, reading CNN CEO Chris Licht’s words that thanked Lemon and noted he “will forever be a part of the CNN family.”CNN This Morning opened its show with a new graphic that only featured Harlow and Collins’s names, dropping Lemon’s.
In wishing Lemon well, Harlow added that the former CNN host was one of her first friends on the network. Collins agreed and affirmed, “We want to keep the focus on the news,” before moving into the show’s content.

Don Lemon fired from CNN after divisive morning show runLongtime CNN host Don Lemon has been fired by the cable news network a little over two months after apologizing to viewers for on-air comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. CNN announced Lemon's departure Monday. The host said in a Twitter post that he was stunned by the move and said he was informed by his agent. Lemon had been with the cable news network for 17 years. CNN did not provide a public explanation for Lemon’s departure. In mid-February, Lemon drew widespread condemnation for saying the 51-year-old Haley was not “in her prime' and later said he regretted the comment.
