Don Bosco OL Chase Bisontis, New Jersey’s top HS football recruit, commits to Texas A&M
A 6-5, 295-pound national recruit, Bisontis plays mean and will put defenders on his highlight tape if they aren’t ready. Add in his technique and most defenders are in for a long day when Bisontis comes to town – a tough, mauling run blocker, who plays smart, physically, and with leverage.
Bisontis has strong hands and is a good enough athlete to mirror ends off the edge. He gets consistent movement on the line of scrimmage and makes square contact with defenders. He also excels at combination blocks and climbing to linebackers upfield. Bisontis trains like a no-star with no offers. He is often seen on Twitter bench-pressing and squatting heavy weights, working on his explosion or perfecting his technique and craft, overall.Bisontis officially visited A&M and in-state Rutgers as well as Michigan State and LSU. But he will take his talent, size and skills to Aggieland, which he hopes will prepare him for the NFL and life after football.
“Coach Schiano said I can go to any school in the country, but Rutgers coaches care about me the most. He mentioned how his coaches are N.J. guys and they know what’s it’s like to be in my shoes, growing up in N.J. and attending Don Bosco,” Bisontis said in March. But, in the end, his bond with offensive line coach Steve Addazio - who hails from the Northeast, the Aggies’ o-line room, lure of Jimbo Fisher, and wealth of NIL opportunities, proved too vast to resist.
