According to TravelInsurance.com, travelers who booked their travel within the last 7-21 days may be able to purchase a travel insurance plan with an optional “Cancel for Any Reason” upgrade, which would allow one to cancel 48 hours or more prior to their departure date for a partial reimbursement. This is not available for residents of the state of New York, and there can be additional requirements.
