This victory marked the 23rd Caribbean Series championship for the Dominican Republic , solidifying their position as the most successful team in the tournament's history.
The only run of the game came in the third inning when veteran Robinson Cano hit a double play ball with the bases loaded, allowing Junior Lake to score. Rogers pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only one hit, to secure the win. Manny Bañuelos took the loss for the Charros de Jalisco, allowing three hits and a run in four innings pitched. Pujols, who retired from playing after the 2022 season, is expected to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He ranks second all-time with 2,218 RBIs, trailing only Hank Aaron, and his 703 home runs place him fourth on the historic list. As a manager, Pujols' first year has been equally remarkable.
