Dominic Raab bullying report decision delayed until tomorrow by Rishi Sunak

🔴 Dominic Raab’s political future hangs in the balance after Rishi Sunak decided to take another day to decide his fate following the completion of a report into allegations the Deputy Prime Minister bullied civil servants

Mr Raab torpedoed his own hopes of a job in Ms Truss’s campaign by publicly describing her economic plans as a “suicide note”, earning the gratitude of Mr Sunak’s team. Mr Raab has long been committed to plans for a British Bill of Rights, currently passing through Parliament, which he believes will weaken the influence of the European Convention of Human Rights on UK law without requiring the Government to withdraw from the convention altogether.

His own leadership campaign in 2019 was a flop but Boris Johnson appointed him Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State – meaning he had to step up as acting prime minister when Mr Johnson was fighting for his life in hospital at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
