The Miami Dolphins have locked up their quarterback of the future.On Friday, it was reported that Miami and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa agreed to a massive four-year extension to solidify him as the next franchise quarterback of the Dolphins. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tagovailoa is getting $212.4 million over the next four years, paying him an average annual value of $53.1 million. It includes a whopping $167 million of guaranteed money.
Tagovailoa didn't only make the Pro Bowl in 2023-24, but he also finished fifth in AP Comeback Player of the Year voting, receiving the fourth-most first-place votes.Tagovailoa was the center of controversy during the 2022-23 season due to sustaining numerous head injuries. During a Week 3 matchup, Tagovailoa briefly left the game with what the Dolphins called a back injury.
