Drone footage shows dolphins confined to small pool

Heartbreaking video shows dolphins stuck in a miniscule tank in Mexico , languishing just a few feet from the open ocean — leaving activists appalled over “gut wrenching” conditions.

The concrete pool where the animals live is located mere feet from the Caribbean Sea and is only about 6.5 feet deep, leaving the dolphins exposed to constant sunlight — which experts say can burn their skin. Philip Demers, UrgentSeas co-founder and executive director, said: “Dolphins are wide ranging, emotionally complex, social animals that live their entire natural lives in large family pods.“To see them separated from family and forced to perform for food in the most unsustainable, tiny tank is just heart-breaking.

This change, while intended to empower users, could lead to more drones operating in potentially dangerous airspace, exacerbating existing anxieties surrounding unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and drone sightings. Despite the FAA's guidelines and regulations, DJI’s decision places the ultimate responsibility on drone operators to avoid restricted areas, raising concerns about potential misuse and security risks.

DJI Drone Software Change Sparks Safety Concerns After Wildfire IncidentDJI Drone Software Change Sparks Safety Concerns After Wildfire IncidentA recent wildfire incident in California where a drone collided with a firefighting aircraft highlights the dangers of drones to aerial firefighting operations. Following the incident, DJI, the world's leading drone manufacturer, made changes to its software that allow drone operators to bypass previously enforced no-fly zones. This has raised concerns among safety experts and legal professionals who argue that the new system relies on warnings that are insufficient to prevent reckless drone operation, particularly in critical situations. DJI defends its decision, stating that the previous geo-fencing system was ineffective and that the new system provides adequate user warnings. However, critics contend that this approach fails to adequately address the risks posed by irresponsible or malicious drone use and places undue responsibility on drone operators.
