You've gotta hear DollyParton’s coronavirus poem
Parton dolled up for a minute-and-a-half video recording of her songlike anthem dedicated to people's feelings of boredom-turned-irritation bubbling up during quarantine. But before she unpacked those emotions, the country superstar poetically let off some steam that demonstrated just what she was getting at.
"Can you hold it down in there? I'm trying to do a video in the studio. What? My accountant's calling? Well, tell him to kiss my assets goodbye because they're dwindling to nothing," she yelled. Then she proceeded to lyrically describe how citizens young and old are cracking under the pressure of the statewide stay-at-home orders.
"This too shall pass as all things will. If the virus don't kill us, the staying home will. The kids are bored and restless. They scream and yell and squawk. And the teens and tweens, they're just plain mean. They bite your bleeping head off," Parton narrated."And all those loving couples that were once so sweet and cozy? Now they fight like cats and dogs like Donald [Trump] and [Nancy] Pelosi.
