WITH the growing impact of artificial intelligence in the operations of more establishments, the Department of Labor and Employment backed the proposed legislation regulating the production and use of the new technology.

Among the salient provisions of the bill is the creation of the Artificial Intelligence Development Authority .filed HB 7396 in response to reports of how AI can be used to spread misinformation and displace jobs. Based on their initial observations, AI and automation are expected to cause job displacements in the labor-intensive industries such as the manufacturing sector, he said.
