A Department of Justice task force claimed in a report earlier this year there the Biden administration consistently discriminated against Christians, according to a copyThe Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias wrote in its June account that Christian communities were unlawfully targeted by the government and that their beliefs were marginalized.

Christians’ political, social and humanitarian contributions were also devalued, the unit noted. A review of federal departments and agencies revealed a consistent and systemic pattern of discrimination against Christians during the Biden Administration. Where there should have been ‘equal justice under law’ there was unequal treatment – policies and practices that singled out Christian people, Christian houses of worship, and Christian convictions for disfavored treatment,” the task force said. Former President Joe Biden expressed support for religious equality during his time in office. He established programs to address issues in various religious communities and spoke about the importance of treating people of different faiths fairly. The task force said it found multiple instances of anti-Christian bias in federal agencies, though. The State Department provided limited humanitarian relief to Christians compared to other populations and offered “muted” responses to attacks on Christians relative to other groups, the task force claimed. Under Biden, the State Department promoted religious acceptance through the Office of Religious Freedom. The division, which still operates in the Trump administration, has a stated purpose of supporting the right of every person in the world to “believe or not believe, to change their beliefs, speak about their beliefs, and to manifest their beliefs through teaching, practice, worship, and observance.” The Biden administration’s DOJ, using authority granted by the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, also directed the arrests of about two dozen people for praying and demonstrating outside abortion facilities, according to the task force. Pregnancy counseling services and worship places were not afforded the same protections, though, the unit said. Biden’s DOJ established a Reproductive Rights Task Force in 2022 for the purpose of identifying ways to protect reproductive healthcare access. That task force claimed to have evaluated state legal actions that impaired women’s ability to seek reproductive care, as well as those that infringed on federal protections for healthcare provision. The anti-Christian bias unit pledged to continue investigating alleged discrimination that took place within the Biden administration and to produce another report by February. “The Task Force makes this commitment: the federal government will never again be permitted to turn its power against people of faith,” the unit said. “Under President Trump and Attorney General Bondi’s leadership, in partnership with all members of this Task Force, the rule of law will be enforced with vigor, and every religion will be treated with equality in both policy and action.”
