Norfolk Southern has pledged to ensure the area is fully cleaned up and the Biden administration has promised to make sure that happens. The DOJ is seeking injunctive relief, cost recovery and civil penalties to “ensure it pays the full cost of the environmental cleanup,” according to the lawsuit.
