Law enforcement officials searched the Virginia home of former top Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, according to his employer and former Trump administration colleague.
That office is leading investigations related to the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021, although the spokesperson declined to link the activity to any individual or probe. Former DOJ officials, including Trump’s acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and his deputy Richard Donoghue, have previously testified that Trump sought to install Clark atop DOJ during the final chaotic days of his administration as part of an effort to use the department to legitimize his false claims of election fraud.
