The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday said it will review its notes to put together a case against those involved in the smuggling of onions and other agricultural products in the country.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said the department has been conducting an investigation on the issue for some time.
“There are around six or seven names that come out whenever we look at the whole picture. So we already have an idea. We just have to catch them in the act,” Remulla said. The DOJ previously announced the creation of the Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Task Force, which will include the Bureau of Customs and the Department of Agriculture.
