THE Department of Health warned the public on Friday, January 7, 2022, against being complacent with the Omicron variant, which has been described as usually causing mild symptoms only, as well as a brief surge in coronavirus disease cases.

"That would be wrong. There are still many things that we don't know about Omicron because it is a new variant," said Duque.The health chief said this is because becoming complacent may prove costly if initial information proves to be wrong. He said it would still be best if the people will fully adhere to the minimum public health standards regardless of the nature of the Omicron variant.
