The Department of Health (DOH) has vowed to provide better health services for female persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario visited the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in line with the observance of National Women’s Month.
In a statement, the DOH said that there is a need to “improve accessibility to medical services” for female PDLs. “Isang challenge din po—access to these cancer medicines. Meron namang programa na Cancer Medicines Access Program. It’s a matter of just linking our PDLs, these government institutions, to the right sources or to these government or private facilities that are providing these services,” she added.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire visited PDLs inside the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday.
