The Department of Health reported 259 deaths from coronavirus disease 2019 on Monday, September 14, 2020, the highest death toll in a single day although most of these occurred in August and July.The agency said 253 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were validated to be deaths. while 44 others were still active cases.

One in five cases, or 53,754 , were active cases, referring to patients who are either in the hospitals or in quarantine. As of September 14, DOH said more than 2.92 million individuals have been tested for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.The 265,888 confirmed cases as of September 14 constitute 0.24 percent of the total Philippine population.
