Based on latest DOH data, Central Visayas has logged 15,636 dengue cases January to October this year, indicating an increase of 2,000 cases compared to the January-September 2021 figure. Cebu province still topped the dengue statistics at more than 6,398, followed by Cebu City with 2,696 cases.Lapu-Lapu City has 1,455 cases while Mandaue has 800.Ninety-five dengue patients reportedly died in the entire region this year.
“We are now reiterating to our constituents, the 4 o’clock habit. Manglimpyo ta and search and destroy possible breeding places,” said Dr. Liland Estacion, head of the Provincial Health Office in Negros Oriental in a press briefing on Friday. No local government unit has so far declared an outbreak, with the DOH saying that the incidence was still manageable.The agency has registered 267 measles cases in the region since last January year with all patients fully recovered.
