There were 883 more cases detected, bringing the number of active infections nationwide to 17,481, the DOH said. According to the DOH, the National Capital Region recorded the most cases in recent 14 days with 5,152. It was followed by Calabarzon with 2,041; Central Luzon with 1,061; Western Visayas with 932; and Central Visayas with 829.
The country’s cumulative tally of cases now reached 4,042,936. This includes 3,960,685 recoveries and 64,770 fatalities.The DOH said the additional case of BQ.1 was a local case from Western Visayas.It noted that “65 were classified as Omicron BA.2.3.20, two as BA.5 , 42 as XBB, two as XBC, and six as other Omicron subvariants.”
