DOH logs 171 new COVID-19 cases

The Philippines recorded 171 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, according to the Department of Health.

This marks the sixth straight day of fewer than 200 new cases, and brings the total nationwide caseload to 4,173,313 cases.

Active cases have decreased to 3,972, the lowest tally in 406 reporting days—or since June 17, 2022’s 3,829 active cases—and the first time in more than a year that active cases have gone below 4,000, according to GMA Integrated News Research.The region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days is NCR with 515 cases, followed by Central Luzon with 334, Calabarzon with 321, Western Visayas with 193, and Ilocos Region with 185.

Among cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days with 108 cases, followed by Laguna with 102, Davao with 95, Cagayan with 92 and Cavite with0 88. COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 14.5% with 3,433 occupied and 20,284 vacant in over 1,890 COVID-19 facilities.
