THE Department of Health is considering conducting mass testing for the coronavirus disease 2019 in prison facilities with confirmed cases of the disease.Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said they were working with the Department of Justice and the Department of the Interior and Local Government for the guidelines on the mass testing.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the Bureau of Corrections have reported that some inmates have contracted the respiratory disease.A mass testing is being considered at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory and Cebu City Jail in coordination with the Department of Health.
