Some of their owners donned bunny ears and other festive gear to add to the merriment, despite temperatures in the 30s that had many of the dogs shivering.

Scout, a Jack Russell terrier and beagle mix, also called a jackabee dog, was waiting with owner Michelle Senior of Morton Grove for the Morton Grove Park District’s Doggie Egg Hunt to start on March 23. Scout was wearing a “Happy Easter” t-shirt. Pam DeFiglio, Chicago Tribune/Pioneer Press Upon the signal to start, dogs rushed forward, and when they touched an egg with their noses, that was the signal for owners to place that egg in a basket.
