Protestors gathered on Saturday at the shelter where Pursuit was supposed to be euthanized last month. They say serious questions remain about the shelter's finances and oversight.
Protesters picketed outside the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area's office, asking for Amy Kaunas, the HSHA's executive director, to either step down or be removed from her position. The petitioners have raised concerns about the HSHA's leadership, policies for putting down animals and financial management over the past several months.
The protesters, which include former volunteers, say they have unanswered questions and concerns about Kaunas’ management style, the organization’s oversight and spending decisions at the nonprofit. The group also hasand paid for a highway billboard as part of their efforts “In Pursuit of change,” at the shelter.
