A shelter in Puerto Rico put Sukie on a flight to ewr. When her crate was unloaded, she escaped. briannakudisch

A six-year-old foster dog escaped from her crate after arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport from Puerto Rico three weeks ago and remains missing, according to a frequent shelter volunteer.

When an airline employee took her crate out of the cargo plane, she got out and ran away, said Magie Lugo, who has previously volunteered with the shelter on her vacations to Puerto Rico and has adopted two dogs from the shelter. There have been some sightings of her in the area, which is loud and full of planes and trucks, and a private tracker was hired to help find her, Lugo said. Volunteers have also put up posters and contacted airport police. But she has not been found yet.
