Scott Godman believes the controversial breed are 'absolutely fantastic, loveable dogs' and that irresponsible owners are to blame for a spate of attacks.
A dog expert plans to host an open XL Bully training event later this month to prove that the controversial pets are not as dangerous as many people think. Rishi Sunak confirmed the American XL Bully breed will be banned down south later this year following a spate of attacks.
Next Saturday from 10am, at Oak Road playing fields, he plans a free-to-attend celebration of the breed and to help concerned owners with important training and advice on keeping their dogs safe. “I don’t want people losing their dogs just because they don’t know what to do when the new rules come in. I want everyone to become responsible owners.”
“A dog that is aggressive is usually just scared. You need to appreciate how a dog thinks. You can train dogs who are scared to act in a different way and ignore the threat rather than act aggressively."
