The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic-related financing secured by the Department of Finance has breached the $5-billion mark.
In a statement on its website on Tuesday, the Finance department said it had raised “$5.65 billion in budgetary support financing.” Meanwhile, the DoF said the Philippines had signed the previously announced $750-million loan agreement with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank , aimed at supporting the government’s efforts to suppress the pandemic and augment the funds needed to address the crisis.
