Here’s how Netflix’s dramatized version of the 2019 BBC interview -- starring Rufus Sewell as the Prince Andrew -- differs from the original

“The Crown” may have ended, but Netflix isn’t done with Britain’s royals. In another dramatization of fairly recent events, the streaming movie “Scoop” depicts the 2019 BBC interview with Prince Andrew in which, for the first time, he discussed his dealings with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — and denied any wrongdoing. Itfollows BBC producer Sam McAlister as she secures an interview for BBC Newsnight host Emily Maitlis with Prince Andrew .

The film opens with photographer Jae Donnelly tracking down Andrews and Epstein to get a shot of them together, complete with a dramatic running scene. Eventually, British tabloids would speculate that the occurrence was either arranged by Epstein or that he was aware of it. When asked about this in the actual interview, Andrew denied that Epstein would’ve done that.
