Ted Lasso season 3, episode 10 features the character of Nate playing the violin, but does actor Nick Mohammed really play the instrument?

Ted Lasso season 3, episode 10 features a beautiful scene of Nate Shelley playing the violin, but does actor Nick Mohammed really play the instrument? Much of Ted Lasso season 3 has centered on Nate's character arc after his surprising somewhat villainous turn in season 2 of the show.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The latter aspect, that being the reconciliation with his father after Nate's troubled upbringing, came after a scene in which Nate began playing the violin. The music accompanied the scene of Rebecca vetoing the Akufo Super League, helping to elevate the scene beautifully. The question remains though, of whether it was indeed Nate's actor Nick Mohammed who was playing the string instrument in Ted Lasso season 3, episode 10.

Ted Lasso's Nick Mohammed Is A Talented Violin Player Interestingly, Nick Mohammed is actually a very talented violin player, meaning it was his own performance on the violin in Ted Lasso season 3, episode 10. In fact, Mohammed took to Twitter to confirm that he was playing his old violin while his wife played the piano for the performance of Arvo Pärt’s "Spiegel im Spiegel" performance.

Also, some of Mohammed's earlier acting works support his talent with the violin. A stage show entitled "Mr. Swallow: Houdini" saw Mohammed receive critical acclaim for this faux-musical about the life of the titular escapologist. During the show, Mohammed was shown also to display his aptitude for music, which is now extending into his TV acting career.

Nate heartbreakingly remarks that he simply just enjoyed playing and that he was never trying to be perfect at it. After his father tearfully admits that he knows this now and only wanted what was best for his son even if it meant overlooking Nate's own desires, the two reconcile. The violin was a way of helping Nate's father to come to this realization, after remarking how much he misses hearing Nate play.
