Trea Turner's leadoff home run set the tone for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who defeated their NL West rival San Diego Padres in Game 1 of the NLDS on Tuesday night.

Smith found himself in an RBI scenario in the bottom of the third inning when Turner doubled to lead off the inning. He cashed in on his second double of the game, lacing it to left field to easily score the speedy Turner, making it 3-0. Gavin Lux would create an even further gap, pushing it to 5-0 on a two-RBI double.
But that's all the Padres would get. Their best situation was in the top of the sixth when Dodgers manager Dave Roberts decided to take out starter Julio Urias for righty reliever Evan Phillips, who let the first two runners get on base. As for Clevinger, he left the game after just 2.2 innings, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three.
