⚾ Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 2 — Through seven innings Top of the seventh: Blake Treinen relieved Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages then made a spectacular sliding catch to rob Gabriel Moreno of a lead-off hit.
Nolan Arenado followed with a single into center field. Carlos Santana flied out to Pages in right-center field. Treinen struck out Jordan Lawlar to strand Arenado at first. Bottom of the seventh: Arizona reliever Taylor Clarke hit Shohei Ohtani with his first pitch. Kyle Tucker then had his first hit as a Dodger, driving a double to the wall in the right-center field gap to score Ohtani and make it 5-2 Dodgers. Mookie Betts drove in Tucker on a line drive to center field, giving the Dodgers a 6-2 lead. Diamondbacks left fielder Jordan Lawlar followed with a bullpen-gate crashing catch to rob Freddie Freeman of extra bases for the first out. Will Smith then hit a two-run home run into the left-field pavilion to make it 8-2 Dodgers. Andrew Hoffman entered the game in relief of Clarke and walked Max Muncy on five pitches. Teoscar Hernández bounced into a 4-3 double play, with Marte tagging Muncy on the basepath before throwing to first.
