Max Muncy had a really good week last week – and this week promises to be even better.
The Dodgers’ third baseman was named the National League Player of the Week for his performance on the field last week. Now Muncy is expected to leave the Dodgers briefly to be with his wife for the birth of their second child. Muncy will officially go on the paternity list before the Dodgers start a three-game series in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Top prospect Michael Busch will take Muncy’s spot on the active roster.
The Dodgers are also expected to add reliever Brusdar Graterol to the paternity list on Tuesday. Reliever Evan Phillips is expected back from his paternity leave for the series in Pittsburgh.The Dodgers’ first-round pick in the 2019 draft out of the University of North Carolina, Busch has been off to a good start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .337 with two home runs, 16 RBIs and a .967 OPS through the first 21 games.
