Julio Urías, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony domestic violence, will remain on administrative leave 'until further notice,' according to the Dodgers.
Major League Baseball is aware Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence and plans to launch an investigation.It clears the way for the Dodgers to add another pitcher to their roster for Thursday’s game against the Marlins — likely, right-hander Ryan Pepiot, who joined the team in Miami on Wednesday — and avoids the potential for grievance had the Dodgers not used Urías as planned while he was still healthy and on the active roster.
Urías’ chances of returning this season — his last under contract with the Dodgers — are seemingly slim.MLB is also investigating the incident, and could discipline Urías under the domestic violence policy even if he isn’t charged. In 2019, Urías was suspended 20 games under the domestic violence policy after being arrested — but not charged — for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.
