The Freemans went on to say that Maximus has shown significant improvement in the past 48 hours and was "excavated from his breathing tube and taken off of the ventilator" on Wednesday. Chelsea Freeman wrote last week that Maximus has transient synovitis, a temporary condition that causes hip inflammation and typically occurs in young boys. She said that Maximus first had a viral infection two weeks ago when the family was in Arlington, Texas, for the All-Star Game.
