While many are quick to joke that a New Year’s resolution only ever lasts a week, there are people out there who look to the coming year with hopes for real and lasting positive change.
To remind us that life is a constant struggle to be better versions of ourselves, we follow four characters and their aspirations in the year ahead.For Genevieve, life took a turn in her teens when she started feeling funny around girls her age. While other young ladies would speak about boys and their crushes, Genevieve found herself having the same feelings for gals.
Genevieve, in 2023, has decided to one day break free from her inner prison and reveal her true self to her family. Never mind what might happen for she simply wishes to no longer hide who she truly is.Reuben has been sick for as long as he can remember. While other boys his age would run around outside and play, Reuben was stuck in his bedroom. His only knowledge of the outside world lies in books and looking out the window to see what his neighbors are up to.
Reuben promises to himself that he would do everything he could to grow stronger from getting enough rest to eating healthy so that he could finally see the world and visit all the faraway places he had only read about in his books. He hopes to come home one day and open his own restaurant, serving exotic dishes possibly worthy of a Michelin star. For now, Trevor is stuck in the daily grind of working for a busy fast food establishment, occasionally dealing with angry or unruly customers.
