‘Do not use the name of the ANC’: Mokonyane warns members holding anniversary celebrations
The ANC has distanced itself from any birthday bashes, parties or other events that will be taking place on the sidelines of its 110th anniversary, including activities organised by the Sumbandila branch in the Vhembe district where suspended secretary-general Ace Magashule is expected to be present.
Whether there is a programme by the secretary-general, we have not seen that programme. It is not in our formal programme. Sumbandila branch member Fistos Mafela confirmed that the event was not part of the official celebrations, but was rather an initiative to assist orphans and youth in Musina. The programme involves a football tournament and the donation of soccer kits to children on Friday, Mafela said.
We are facing a shortage of resources, but everything is coming together. We cannot go overboard when staff members have not been paid their salaries. We also cannot go overboard when some of our workers’ benefits have not been paid.
