The Commonwealth of Virginia plans to present DNA evidence at the trial of Naresh Bhatt, who is accused of killing his missing Manassas Park wife, Mamta Kafle Bhatt. The DNA analysis, conducted on items found in the couple's house, allegedly links Bhatt to the crime scene and Mrs. Bhatt's blood. The trial is scheduled to begin next September.
The Commonwealth of Virginia plans to present DNA evidence at the trial of the man accused of killing his missing Manassas Park wife, Mamta Kafle Bhatt, according to new court documents.
The four certificates of analysis from the Virginia Department of Forensic Science, which are dated between August 28 and November 12, show the results of theduring the investigation. The certificates indicate DNA was collected from multiple items inside the couple’s house, including a hairbrush belonging to Mamta, a piece of carpet, a garbage can, a bathmat, a reciprocating saw and knives.
Naresh was indicted by a grand jury for murder and physically defiling a dead body on December 2. His trial is set to begin in September and he is due back in court for a status hearing on March 20.
