The 26-year-old wide receiver left the game while attempting to catch a pass from Geno Smith, taking a hit from Falcons safety Justin Simmons that caused him to awkwardly land out of bounds. However, Metcalf’s status may not be as severe as the team originally thought.
During Mike Macdonald’s post-game press conference, he said that Metcalf “banged his knee a little bit,” feeling that, “it doesn’t look too bad,” per John Boyle. Metcalf exited the game during the fourth quarter of Seattle’s Week 7 matchup in Atlanta, recording four receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. We will need to wait and see if Metcalf is present at practice this week for a big showdown with the Buffalo Bills, but for now, it sounds as though his injury may not be major.
