The Chicago Bears are working to bolster their roster this offseason, and one of their biggest stars may be on the move. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears are finalizing a trade that would send wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills.ESPN sources: the Chicago Bears are working to finalize a trade that would send WR D.J. Moore to the Buffalo Bills. Compensation still is being discussed, and the trade cannot be processed until the new league year begins, but both sides are pushing to make it happen. The deal would not be officially consummated until Wednesday when the new NFL league year begins, and the teams have not yet finalized compensation, according to Schefter’s report. Moore was acquired by the Bears in the 2023 trade that sent the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers. In exchange, the Panthers sent Moore and a pair of draft picks, including their first round pick in 2024, which ultimately was the top pick that the Bears used to draft quarterback Caleb Williams. Moore appeared in all 51 regular season games for the Bears over the last three seasons. He had a bit of a down year production-wise in 2025, hauling in 50 catches for 682 yards and six touchdowns, but he also produced some of the Bears’ biggest moments of the season, including his overtime touchdown reception against the Green Bay Packers during the regular season and his touchdown catch that beat the Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round. In joining the Bills, Moore will help bolster a passing attack led by quarterback Josh Allen, who has been looking for a strong pass catcher to help him out in recent seasons.
