Since then, he has worked exclusively within the Built Environment, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Consultancy industries.

He has authored over 150 papers and secured $24M in research funding from prestigious organizations such as NSF, NIH, and ERC. His notable awards include the NSF CAREER Award and the ERC Consolidator Grant. Prof. Valdastri is a Royal Society Wolfson Research Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters editor.

His work has been featured in top media outlets. He co-founded WinMedical, which was acquired in 2017. He is now advancing robotic colonoscopy with his new company, Atlas Endoscopy.
