The title “Power Trash” was inspired both by a fellow band known as Powers and the Replacements’ infamous dictum that record stores should file their albums under “Power Trash,” and both the title track and “The Mountain” on the EP’s A- side have a fast, shouty Replacements energy coupled with an unmistakable Jersey City swagger.

Desir Decir’s “Power Trash” EP will be released to all streaming platforms and available for download atMoore’s Lounge, also known as Bill & Ruth’s, has been a vital part of Jersey City’s music scene and the McGinley Square neighborhood for generations, renowned as much for the jazz music it hosts as for owner Miss Ruth’s fish fries.
