The jukebox musical combines '80s pop hits by the Go-Gos with Elizabethan era blank verse
When “Head Over Heels” opened on Broadway five years ago, the The New York Times didn’t seem to know quite what to make of it.
A production of “Head Over Heels” at Diversionary was planned back in 2019 with a May 2020 opening scheduled, but the COVID-19 pandemic scuttled those plans. “As a young person, these are the stories I want to be telling,” said Martinez. “This is the kind of show that is going to bring younger people into the theater.”
