San Francisco’s closest supervisorial race is separated by incredibly thin margins as the number of outstanding ballots citywide continues to dwindle.

Elections officials’ Saturday vote tallying marked the first day in which Chen had a majority of counted ranked-choice votes, and ballots continued breaking in her direction since then. Chen’s campaign formed a ranked-choice-voting alliance with Ernest Jones’ campaign. Jones, a former legislative aide to Safai and the last of the top candidates, had been eliminated in the fifth round, with 64.7% of his voters’ second-choice votes going to Chen.
