It’s a surprising thematic choice.
Disneyland announced Thursday plans for the treehouse in Adventureland, which has been closed for refurbishment. Formerly Tarzan’s Treehouse, the Adventureland Treehouse will pay homage to the original attraction when it opened in 1962 based on the movie"Swiss Family Robinson."Adventureland to New Orleans Square has seen a giant fabric-covered scaffold structure where Tarzan’s Treehouse used to be.
When Disneyland closed the attraction for refurbishment, there was no announcement of what the change would be. Many speculated it would bethe 2021 Disney hit movie. Now, we know when it’s reopening and what guests will find inside. Now called Adventureland Treehouse, the new attraction is a callback to the original theme of the treehouse when it opened in 1962 as the Swiss Family Treehouse, after the 1960 Disney live-action film “Swiss Family Robinson.” The huge artificial tree with a concrete base allowed guests to walk up stairs to visit the desert island treehouse belonging to the eponymous shipwrecked family from Switzerland.
