Despite this news exciting fans, the promise made in HSMTMTS will only pay off if they get stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to return as Troy and Gabriella for a feature-length film, a feat that seems unlikely.
The High School Musical: the Musical: The Series clip shows Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman, Kaycee Stroh, and Alyson Reed playing dramatized versions of themselves acting as their characters from the original HSM movies.
