The move means that fans will only be able to access Disney content through the streaming service Disney+.Credit: Getty - ContributorFor customers that pay for the Sky Kids package, this means that there will no longer be any Disney content included.If they want to keep the other Sky Kids channels they will also still need to pay for the kids package which costs £5 a month.Likewise, Virgin customers will find that they can no longer access Disney content.
Analysts have speculated that the decision to drop the Disney channels comes against the backdrop of declining viewing figures as fans moved to the new Disney+ channel. "In 2010 those aged four to 15 watched 11.5 minutes of Disney kids’ channels per day, it is now 1.3 minutes." "The direct-to-consumer service, which garnered more than 54.5 million subscribers worldwide in its first seven months, will now premiere all the latest films, series and specials from the three Disney Channels, along with offering a rich and expansive back catalogue of Disney Channel titles in the UK, including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Descendants 3 and Phineas and Ferb."
