Disney+ has announced the release date for its latest concert special celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Lion King. The event, held live on May 24th and 25th, will feature a full orchestra performing Hans Zimmer's iconic musical score led by conductor Sarah Hicks. Fans can expect immersive live performances of beloved songs like 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight,' 'Circle of Life,' 'Be Prepared,' and 'Hakuna Matata,' written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
The concert experience promises to be epic, complete with a 70-person orchestra, a troupe of skilled dancers, state-of-the-art projection mapping images, and the award-winning costumes and puppetry from the Broadway show.The special boasts a star-studded lineup, including original Lion King composer Lebo M, alongside legendary actors like Jeremy Irons (Scar), Nathan Lane (Timon), Billy Eichner (Timon), Ernie Sabella (Pumbaa), Jason Weaver (Young Simba), and Bradley Gibson (Simba, Broadway).
