Walt Disney Co. and streaming provider FuboTV have agreed to merge their online live TV businesses, forming the second-biggest digital pay-TV provider in North America. Disney will integrate its Hulu + Live TV service into Fubo, resulting in a jointly owned venture (70% Disney, 30% Fubo) with 6.2 million subscribers. The combined service will operate under both the Fubo and Hulu + Live TV brands, led by Fubo CEO David Gandler. The deal excludes Hulu's subscription video business.

Fubo co-founder and Chief Executive Officer David Gandler will operate the newly combined Fubo and Hulu+ Live TV business. Fubo is a virtual multichannel video programming distributor, which means it offers live TV channels over the internet as opposed to over cable, satellite or fiber. Hulu’s Live service, an alternative to cable TV, lets users stream from roughly 100 live TV channels including sports, news and shows.
